The challenge
A maker of children's orthoses worked in data chaos: patients scattered across paper forms, Excel, calendars and technicians' notes. Production stages could not be tracked and changes could not be audited, while gaps in medical data put the company at compliance risk (GDPR, medical device requirements).
What we built
A tablet app on the workshop floor: a patient record with measurements, an order workflow with states (casting, thermoforming, fitting, production) and a consultation form for the orthotist.
One patient database synchronised between the office, physiotherapists and production.
A scheduler for technicians and appointments with a calendar view, availability and events (leave, sick days).
Infrastructure migrated to EU servers with encryption and a full audit log — for GDPR and medical device requirements.
Results
More than 140 patients handled through the system in its first weeks in production.
Four parallel tools replaced by one system — several hours a week saved on scheduling alone.
The full audit trail required by medical standards.
The technician team can grow without data chaos.
